I’ve decided to sell this beautiful example of a Columbia Payne 9.6 following the purchase of my trawler as I’ve simply not been using it. It was designed as cruiser-racer and would make a great long distance cruising boat which requires minimal maintenance.

The hull and cabin top are all fiberglass. The wood pieces on the topside are in great shape with Sunbrella covers to protect them from weather. The whole boat was painted in 2017. Most of it is in great condition, but the topsides of the hull were not well prepped leading to some peeling as seen in the photos. The bottom was done at the same time and is described as “fair” by my bottom cleaner.

The engine is a Volvo MD7A which runs but is slow to start. The previous owner added a bracket to the transom for an outboard but my preference is the inboard.

The interior of the boat is in exceptional condition with beautiful woodwork throughout. I’m not sure how much is original and how much done by a previous owner, but it’s by far the best looking carpentry I’ve owned. This model has a pilot berth behind the chart table, for a total 3 single berths + the v-berth. The galley has a vintage alcohol stove in excellent condition.
