Circumnavigation To-Do List
No better way to keep myself honest with my circumnavigation prep, than to publish my current To-Do list for all to see and critique. I’ll keep this updated as I cross things off. If I haven’t checked anything off in awhile, feel free to post a comment about how lazy I’m being.

Where did you learn to do all this? By yourself?
Hello Fred – Yes I learned this on my own. I grew up in a desert racing family and for this reason became very comfortable around mechanical/electrical systems, and separately taught myself to work on computer hardware/software. Although I only recently became involved in sailboats, I found that things come naturally. There was a steep learning curve with the vernacular (e.g. stay, chainplate, tabernacle, windlass, stanchion, etc) but their engineering made sense once the scope was understood.
It also helped to only have junk cars early in life…I was forced to [constantly] work on them myself (in my family, driving was a privilege not a right). I consider myself fortunate to have grown up in a situation which prepared me for this undertaking.
